Chalet Cuckoo Clock
With a projecting cuckoo bird, the Chalet Cuckoo clock is fast catching on in homes across the western world these days. Originating in the Black Forest region of Germany during the middle of the 17th century, the clock became more popular in the subsequent decades. It uses a bellow to make a cuckoo like sound and has been a common feature in many households over the ages.
Instead of only a cuckoo bird, the Swiss version, known as the Chalet cuckoo clock, has animated figures to announce the time. Instead of only a bird, animated figures also announce the time with the help of a Swiss music box. The styling of the Chalet cuckoo clock can be classified into Black Forest chalet, Swiss chalet and Bavarian chalet and they are also powered by quartz batteries.
